Artist: Dr. Eleanor Gates-Stuart
Eleanor’s interests firmly cross-over arts, science, communication and media. A international artist and Professor (Techno Arts) at National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan. Having received numerous awards, grants, and commissions in her career, Eleanor maintains an active professional profile continuing her research and roles such as artist, curator and director of multimedia and arts events in the UK, USA, Taiwan and Australia.
Eleanor has a significant international and national reputation in arts and education with many prestigious research fellowships and residencies in major national organisations and universities, such as, Professional Associate at the University of Canberra, Fellow of the Australian National University 08-09 (ANU) and Visiting Researcher at National ICT Australia (NICTA) 08-11. Eleanor was awarded an honorary association, Research Professor at the University of California Santa Cruz (UCSC), (2011-2014) having successfully completed an International Residency at UCSC and exhibition of her ‘Finger Codes’ Collection.
Eleanor worked as Science Art Fellow at the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) – Australia’s premier scientific research and technology organisation and awarded the Centenary of Canberra Science Art Commission, StellrScope, supported by the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) Government and the Australian Government. She completed her PhD research at the Australian National Centre for the Public Awareness of Science (CPAS) at the ANU.
